"Can receiver performance predict communication range?" article has been uploaded to the RF Design Guide page
In our previous article, "Understanding receiver specifications", we looked at the design of the receiver. The article categorised the receiver performance in terms of specifications.
As transmitters are bound by regulations, it is the receiver design that we have more control over. So how easy is it to predict communication range just by looking at the receiver alone?
What the user needs to be able to do is examine the requirements for successful communication, then decide which receiver parameters should be focused on the most. This is important when you are deciding which radio module is the most suitable.
The following article examines how far receiver specifications can translate into successful communication.
