"What is a radio module?" article has been uploaded to the RF Design Guide page.

Engineers who want to add radio functionality to their existing equipment will quickly find that it is not an easy process.

There are two areas to consider, one is the actual hardware to transmit and receive radio waves; this contains the necessary components such as the antenna, high frequency circuits etc. This in itself requires specialisation in high frequency and analogue electronics. By containing these functions under one unit (radio module), the engineer can procure such radio module and implement it into his equipment.
The other area to consider is communication. You cannot simply feed your existing signals into a radio module and achieve a wireless link. As radio takes place in an open environment, communication controls needs to be implemented.

To help engineers determine the radio module for their application, we introduce the following article on the RF Design Guide page.
